Our Community

The Riviera community.

International Students.

Non-Rwandan students are facilitated by the school’s Welfare department through navigating Rwanda’s visa requirements. Whilst all EAC nations can easily carry cross-border travel documents, once an individual becomes resident in one nation, for example a student in Riviera, it is necessary to obtain a residency visa.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Though a community itself, Riviera is fully aware of training our youth toward their responsibility within the social framework of community. Each month different students are selected to participate in Umuganda, a national community service program.

Staff Community

A very active and professional staff community is what supports the curricular and co-curricular life of Riviera. Each and every staff member serves through clubs, sports, and small groups or individual social, spiritual or academic mentoring. Most staff lives on campus which provides easier access for students to feel nurtured and supported.

A highlight of the Riviera calendar and most colourful event is the presentation of the graduating cohort. Each year the candidates of National and Cambridge examinations are gowned and paraded before a proud and supportive parent cohort. The event is on the school campus and presided over by the Principal, School Resident Director and Guest of Honour.

Student Visitation

Family, in particular parents are integral educational stakeholders and encouraged at Riviera to visit your child. Generally visiting days are the first Sunday of every month from 2 to 5.00pm during school terms. Should necessity arise outside of visitation, it should be by arrangement through phone or email to any Administration whose contacts are available on this website.

The campus of Riviera is maintained by a trained contracted team of security officers, male and female, around the clock 24/7. The campus is fully fenced and entry/exist is thoroughly scrutinised. Admission on the school campus on weekends is by appointment only or on medical grounds. Necessary items brought to students out of office hours may be logged in at the main gate and overseen by Welfare staff to ensure students receive.

At Riviera, you'll find a world of possibility at your fingertips. Our classrooms, co-op program, student organizations, and even the city we live in, all present unique opportunities for new thinking for our students. We Live it.
